Summer Fun

I thought before the school year starts, I would post a few pics from out last trip home. The boys and I had spent the day with Brian’s parents and our niece and nephew.

Bubby and cousin K are hangin’ on the steps.

Bubby getting on his gear for some serious swimming.

T-Rev initiating a complex move called a cannon ball. Pay attention to the expert way he holds his nose.

“You want a piece of me!?!”

Cousin E having a spiritual moment.

Just floating around.

Little Brother

Today, I’m going to brag on my little brother, Jeff (Even though he’s almost a foot taller than me, he will always be my little brother.) Jeff is a GSP trooper and has recently won the award for Valor. He played a major role in a recent hostage situation. Now if you know Jeff, you know if anything is going on, he’s going to be in the middle of it. A lot of times, quite by accident. He just kind of falls into trouble. But he usually manages to come out on top, unscathed, and having done a lot of good in the process.

Below are some pictures of my brother receiving his award. Sorry for the quality of pictures. My camera was having a bad day that day.

This is Jeff getting his award.

Jeff trying not to smile while holding his award.

Now, this picture is a shot of all the officers who received the award for Valor. All the other guys were working together at one hostage scene. Jeff was the lone trouper at the hostage scene for which he was given the award.

Mother and Son. We are all proud of Jeff, but none as much as our mother.

I’m very proud of you little brother! You take care of yourself out there on the highways.

Phineas and Ferb

Well yet again, I’ve let a long time lapse since posting. My old computer crashed, then my new computer had a bad wireless card and had to be sent back. I now have said computer back. However, I have not taken the time to sit down and upload all my new pictures of the boys onto it. So until I do, I thought I would share the new craze in our house.

It’s not really new to the boys but Brian and I have just been infected with the Phineas and Ferb bug. This is a cartoon that comes on Disney and it is just hilarious. Brian and I find ourselves watching it even when the boys are not around. Phineas and Ferb are brothers who are on Summer vacation. The cartoon is about all their shenanigans. Anyway, there is this one song that my boys sing constantly. It’s quite catchy! So much so, that Brian and I can be heard singing it at any given moment. Further more, it’s not uncommon for all 4 of us to break out in song at the same time for an impromptu family sing fest.

So until I can get pictures on here, I thought I would share what the rave is all about. Below is a video of the song. But beware, you’ll probably find yourself singing this yourself at odd times during the day.

Happenings

Hi everyone,

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. My computer crashed several weeks ago. Something about the mother board….go figure. Well my wonderful husband surprised me the other night with a new computer. He had found a good deal on one and bought it for me. So now I’m back in the blogosphere.

We have some exciting news. T-Rev asked Jesus into his heart on June 12th! He is so excited! I cannot even express how I feel. To know that my son will be with me eternally is just…..overwhelming. The joy his father and I feel is immeasurable! I get teary eyed just thinking about it. We plan on having his baptism on August 31st. What a wonderful day that will be.

On a funny note….The day T-Rev accepted Jesus, we were talking about this being sort of a new birthday for him. He and I were discussing the concept of being born again. It amazed me just how much he understood. He just blows me away sometimes with his ability to “just get it”. Well anyway, Bubby was listenting to this and here is what followed:

Bubby: ” Will “T-Rev” get presents on this new birthday?

Me: “Not the kind that you can unwrap.”

T-Rev: “Yeah. My present is I get to live eternally with Jesus.” ( I kid you not, this is what came out of my 7 year old’s mouth. It just blows me away!)

Bubby: “Well, I don’t want one of those (kind of birthdays.)” He’s all about the presents at this age.

Other than that, not much has been going on around here. We pretty much spend our days outside. Either we are at a park or in our backyard with our neighbors. Lazy summer days are here!

I’ll post pictures later. Have a great 4th everyone!

Kim

Busy, busy, busy…..

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it’s been such a long delay in posts. We’ve had a very busy month of May. With field trips, end of school, birthdays, visitors and park days, we’ve barely found a moment to breathe. Below are some pics from the last several weeks.

Love to all,

Kim

Awanna Boys

Every Wednesday night, we go to Awannas. If you’re not familiar with Awannas, it is a program that teaches children scripture. They memorize a Bible verse weekly. Even Bubby has to learn a scripture every week. After they learn their verses, they recite it for their teacher and get checked off in their book. They earn patches or pins for their vests by reaching different levels. Below is a picture of the boys with their vests. They are very proud of their vests! I am very proud of them! It always amazes me when, out of the blue, they spout off a verse they’ve learned. I’m just now able to do that and I’m …… well let’s just say I’m getting up there in years. If you have Awannas where you live, I would highly recommend taking your children. It’s wonderful!

p.s. You would think I could have found a better background for this picture. Just ignore the box of Easter decorations behind them. It hasn’t found it’s way back home yet.

Hodge Podge

Well now that I’m in the blogging world, I thought I would try to figure out how to add pictures to my posts. I can’t very well use this as an online scrapbook/journal if I cannot post pictures can I? Let’s see if I can do this…..

Oh, there we go. Wow! This is cool! This is Bubby being……well Bubby.

This is a pic of the boys on Easter morning. Aren’t they handsome!?!

This is the boys sitting in the back of a fire truck. It’s not a very good pic, but now I can’t figure out how to get it off without deleting my entire post. And honestly, I’m just too lazy to do the whole thing over again.

This is T-Rev conquering his fear of the “Dreaded Rock Wall.” He had a bad experience when he was 5. He had gotten half way up the wall and couldn’t figure out how to get back down. He’s been afraid of climbing another one since then. On this day, a few weeks ago, he just decided he was tired of being afraid and took the bull by the horns and just did it. I was so proud of him.

This is a picture of their homeschool group at the Fire Station. Again, not a very good picture, but I don’t have time to figure out how to erase just the picture and not the entire post. My next pictures will be better I promise. I have to run now and take the boys to Awannas. Maybe I can do more when I get home. I still want to figure out how to put a slide show in my posts.
